The True Test of Leadership
.

by Tim Redmond - the Leadership and Wealth Creation Coach

Wendy and Josh just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Cynthia Chloe! The birthing process was remarkably smooth. My wife's sister and her husband are a happy family in the making.

Now comes the fun. . .

If you're a parent, you know what I mean. Here's a remarkable thought to consider:

We don't just raise our kids, they raise us.

What do I mean by this?

A helpless child requires loving care and attention. Without it, she would not survive. It's amazing how a newborn baby's weakness (e.g., inability to care for herself) stirs up all kinds of things in OUR hearts. . . both positive and negative.

Believe me, I know. My four "leaders in training" have consistently showed me my heart.

The test of our leadership, the mark of our maturity, the strength of our heart is measured by how we respond to the "weaknesses" of other people.

Are we controlled by them or do these "weaknesses" provide an avenue to exercise the healing, connecting strength of our leadership?

It's a point of connection or disconnection. Wealth is created by connection.

Your greatness - your purpose for living involves bringing strength to the weaknesses of others. Your leadership is attracted to chaos (that's why so many run from their leadership calling). Your greatness released brings lasting order to that chaos.

The big Leadership Test is a test of direction. When confronted with frustrations, anger or any negative emotion that arises from your interactions with others, do you look "outward" to JAB (judge, accuse, blame) or do you go "inward" to respond from your healing strength?

Leaders are healers.

Effective leaders don't wait for others to do the right thing before they do the right thing.

It's ultimately your choice. It's a choice towards strength or weakness - connection or disconnection. I know what "direction" the people in your life would love for you to make...

You are a powerful leader. What specific thing can you do TODAY to heal or reconnect with the person you live or work with?
